Meet the hypnotherapy trainersPaul Peace
Paul's training experience includes devising and delivering courses to BSc Psychology and BA Nursing undergraduates at Sheffield Hallam University. The Psychology course was accredited by the British Psychological Society. Paul has published papers in academic journals and presented a paper at an international conference on language and gender at Stanford University, California. In his clinical work with private clients Paul uses hypnotherapy, NLP, EMDR, EFT and an eclectic mixture of psychotherapy approaches. He is a partner in a successful hypnotherapy practice in Sheffield (visit the Sheffield Hypnosis website), seeing clients for a wide spectrum of issues, most often for low confidence and self-esteem, phobia and smoking cessation. He also provides NLP life coaching and is a National Council for Hypnotherapy Accredited Hypnotherapy Supervisor. His clinical qualifications are Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma, Diploma in Hypnotherapy, EMDR trained, Master Practitioner of Timeline Re-Patterning and NLP Master Practitioner. He has trained in NLP Modelling with the one of the co-founders of NLP and founder of New Code NLP, John Grinder, and Carmen Bostic St Clair. Paul is a
Registered Member and Senior Clinician with the National Council for Hypnotherapy
(MNCH), full Member of the National Council of Psychotherapists (MNCP)
and a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register. Along with Karen Bartle,
he is co-developer of Discursive Empowerment - a new therapy that draws
on Narrative Therapy and the insights of the latest revolution in Psychology

She then went on to work as a graduate psychologist in the NHS. She worked with residents in an inpatient unit who were suffering severe and enduring mental health issues including schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder. As well, Karen worked in the community with people with autism and learning disabilities whose behaviour presented significant challenges to the services they accessed. She has also worked as a counsellor with victims of crime and with adult offenders being supervised by the probation service. Karen is a partner in a successful private clinical and medical hypnotherapy practice in Sheffield (visit the hypnotherapy sheffield website). She uses an eclectic mix of hypnotherapy, NLP and various psychotherapy approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). She treats clients with a wide range of issues. She has a particular interest in weight loss which includes working with groups. Her clinical qualifications include a Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma, Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Diploma in NLP. She is working towards becoming a Chartered Health Psychologist with the British Psychological Society. Karen is
a member of the Hypnotherapy Association and General Hypnotherapy Register.
She is co-developer, along with Paul Peace, of Discursive Empowerment
hypnotherapy training.
